The UNM Los Alamos Nursing Assistant program (CNA101) provides comprehensive training that prepares students to work under the supervision of professional healthcare providers. The classroom portion consists of 96 hours of lecture and skills lab instruction covering essential nursing assistant skills.

Tuition & Financial Aid Information

Tuition Rates

New Mexico Residents:

  • $82.00 per credit hour
  • For the 8-credit CNA course, tuition would be approximately $656

Non-residents:

  • $227.50 per credit hour
  • For the 8-credit CNA course, tuition would be approximately $1,820

Additional Fees:

  • Student Activity Fee: $1.50 per credit hour
  • Student Facility Fee: $3.00 per credit hour

Senior Citizens (Age 65+): New Mexico residents age 65 or older may be eligible for a reduced tuition rate of $5 per credit hour if all of the following criteria are met:

  • Student is admitted to UNM
  • Student is a New Mexico resident
  • Student is age 65 or older as of the 21st day of the semester
  • Student registers on or after the first day of the semester
  • Student is registered for 10 hours or less
