• Accuplacer Next Generation Reading score of 250 or higher (or transcript showing successful completion of a college-level English course)
• Valid U.S. government-issued Social Security Card

• Current completed physical
• Current TB skin test results

Nursing Assistant II Requirements

• Current registration with the Division of Health Service Regulation (DHSR) Nurse Aide Registry
• Valid driver’s license or state-issued picture ID
• Valid Social Security card
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Immunization records
• Current physical
• Current TB test results
• Copy of current NAI certification

Nursing Assistant Refresher Course Requirements

• Valid driver’s license or state-issued picture ID
• Valid Social Security card
• Proof of expired certification from North Carolina Board of Nursing (less than 2 years old)

Fall 2025 Classes (Nursing Assistant I)

Hamlet Campus:

• August 18 – November 25: Monday through Thursday, 8:15 to 11 a.m.
• August 18 – November 25: Monday through Thursday, 12:30 to 3:40 p.m.

Scotland County Campus:

• FAST TRACK (8 WEEKS): August 15 – October 9: Monday through Thursday, 8:20 a.m. to 2 p.m.
• August 18 – December 2: Monday through Thursday, 1:30 to 4:40 p.m.
• October 16 – February 12: Tuesday and Thursday, 8:20 a.m. to 2:40 p.m. (plus online assignments)

Spring 2026 Classes (Nursing Assistant I)

• January 9 – April 28: 8:15 to 11 a.m.

2026 Classes (Nursing Assistant II)

• February 17 – May 11: Monday through Thursday, 8:20 a.m. to 3:10 p.m. (Scotland County Campus)

Nursing Assistant Refresher Course

• August 15 – September 11: Monday through Thursday, 5:20 to 9 p.m. (Scotland County Campus)
