Cheapest CNA classes in Atlanta

The cheapest class here is $500 at Morgan Medical Center, but it’s in Madison, not Atlanta, and you would be driving out there for every class and every clinical shift for weeks. The cheapest one in Atlanta itself is Care One Institute at $1,050. Is the cheapest class the best value?

Not always, and in Georgia the reason is money you might not be counting. Every class here is state-approved and the Nurse Aide Registry does not record where you trained, so paying less does not get you a lesser certificate. But Atlanta Technical College’s CN21 program qualifies for the HOPE Career Grant, which covers part of your tuition, and the small private programs at the bottom of this page generally do not, because that grant is built for technical-college programs. With the grant applied, the college class can cost you less than the $500 one.

Ways to pay

Get reimbursed after you’re hired. You may qualify for pro-rata reimbursement of eligible training costs if a Medicare- or Medicaid-certified nursing home hires you within 12 months of paying for your own training (federal rule 42 CFR 483.152). Ask the facility how it handles reimbursement.

If you qualify for Georgia’s HOPE Grant, check whether your CNA program also carries the HOPE Career Grant designation. The Georgia Student Finance Commission’s FY2025 Programs of Study list names ‘CN21 Nurse Aide Health Science Certificate’ as an eligible healthcare credential, the exact program code Atlanta Technical College teaches. That listing means you can draw the Career Grant’s added per-credit-hour award on top of your standard HOPE Grant, so a qualifying program ends up cheaper than the sticker price suggests.

Where CNAs work in Atlanta

Grady Health System can put you in two very different jobs without changing your badge. On the acute-care side downtown it runs a Certified Nursing Assistant/ Patient Safety Monitor track, where ADL care comes with continuous observation of the patients most at risk. On the skilled-nursing side it staffs Crestview Nursing Home, which is long-term care and a different rhythm entirely. Work out which one you want before you apply.
